Hon. Offiono unveils new motor park in Ogoja
Paradise Peace Motor Park, located at Mbok Junction, Ekajuk ward of Ogoja LGA, was yesterday 3rd of September 2023, officially unveiled by Hon. Godwin Offiono, Honorable member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.
The MP who was represented by his constituency Officer, Dr Raphael Ogar Oko, reassured the people of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency of his commitment to serve them sincerely and support every good effort that will bring development to the constituency. He commended the initiators for the idea of having a government approved park at Mbok junction as he tasked the constituents to take advantage of the new park to contribute to the development of the community.
Hon. Godwin Offiono also spoke on the need for unity, peace, security and sustainable development of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency and promised to represent everyone in Ogoja/Yala transcending religion, ethnicity and political affiliation. He affirmed that as himself and Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe from Ogoja are working together, they expect all indigenes, residents, visitors and even persons on transit through Ogoja/Yala to live together and work peacefully to attract sustainable development programs and projects to their communities. He commended Sen. Jarigbe for his effective leadership of Cross River North Senatorial District and pledged to compliment his efforts in delivering good representation to the people.
He called for proper recognition of the great works of road transport workers and emphasized the need for continuous professional development of drivers and other service providers at motor parks to ensure safe journeys and safe arrivals at destination.
Goodwill messages were delivered by several stakeholders including the local government Chairman of NURTW. There were several cultural dance groups at the event that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the people.
A certificate of approval to operate a motor park was issued by Ogoja LGA administration and presented to the Park Manager, Gabriel Ali as a special feature of the event.
Several individuals and groups made donations to support the activities of the motor park.
