Emmanuel Idris, a Legislative Aide to the Senator representing, Cross River North Senatorial District, Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has resigned his position and also left the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Idris in a letter addressed to the party leadership in his Ogoja Urban 2 ward, Cross River State, dated today 27 May, 2023 stated that his reasons for leaving the party were personal and thanked the Party.
Idris in a Facebook Post shared on his timeline, stated that he had resigned his position as the Personal Assistant to the lawmaker and communicated same to the National Assembly service commission.
He added that, his reasons were based on his decision and activities during the March 18 Governorship election in the state where he worked for the All Progressives Congress(APC).
His statement reads; RESIGNATION FROM THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY(PDP)
After due consultations with my followers and associates, I took the difficult but overall best decision to resign my membership of the PDP, today 27th May, 2023. My decision to leave the party is personal.
On the 21st of March, 2023, i tendered my resignation letter to the National Assembly Service Commission, through the office of Sen. Jarigbe Agom (my Principal) as a self disciplinary action for my anti party activities at the March 18th Governorship polls, where I OPENLY declared support and worked for the APC. Even though my boss was willing to overlook my actions at the polls, I insisted on leaving because it was the honorable thing to do.
Like I said in my last post on the subject matter, I do not expect to have my cake and eat it too. I was fully aware of the consequences of my actions and still went ahead with it. Matter of fact, I had drafted my resignation letter before leaving Abuja to Ogoja for the March 18th Governorship Election.
I thank my people who reaffirmed me of their support today and their willingness to follow me wherever I lead them. I have never and will never take all your love and support for granted.
