The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has been conferred with the award of Distinguished Service Star of River State (DSSRS) by the Rivers State Government.
The award was presented to Senator Jarigbe by the Rivers State Governor, H.E Nyesom Wike during the Rivers State Award and Pre-Inauguration Dinner, held at the Banquet Hall, Rivers State’s Government House, Port Harcourt yesterday.
According to Gov. Wike, the award is in recognition of the Lawmaker’s extraordinary achievements and contributions to the development of Rivers State and the nation, Nigeria.
Senator Jarigbe appreciated Gov. Nyesom Wike and the people of Rivers State for acknowledging his contribution to nation building and support to the Rivers State Government. With the Senator to receive the award were; Distinguished Senator Barry Mpigi, Senator elect for Cross River South Senatorial District, Asuquo Ekpenyong, Mr. John George and a host of others.
Other notable awardees include; Senator Godswill Akpabio, the incoming Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, the immediate former Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Hon. Justice Kate Abiri, Prof. Julius Ihimbri, etc.
