The Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (CRSPHCDA) in partnership with Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC) has today the 20th day of April, 2023 sensitized the students of the University of Calabar, Calabar on the need to partake in the ongoing vaccination exercises across the nation.

The exercise which took place at the University’s’s Open Pavilion, with the help of health workers from the agency, attracted hundreds of students who were vaccinated.

The Director General of the Agency, Deaconess (Mrs.) Abasioffiong Offiong, while addressing the students, reminded them that “Health is Wealth,” while stressing further that it takes an individual who is healthy and alive to achieve all the set goals of life including graduating successfully.

She also encouraged the students to utilize the primary healthcare facilities in the state for their vaccinations as the Prof. Ben Ayade’s led-government has made available vaccines in all the facilities of the state including COVID-19, Hepatitis, Measles, Cholera, among others.

Vaccine is a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections. However some can be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.
