Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, is set to commission another ‘abandoned’ 500-seat twin lecture pavilion which is situated opposite the Faculty of Engineering building.

The 500-seat twin lecture pavilion which has 500 seats each also has 8 restrooms for students and lecturers, drainages and a luxury packing lot.

The gigantic infrastructure is one of the many projects built and put to use by the VC in line with her utmost desire of cushioning the effect of classroom deficit in the University of Calabar.

Upon assumption of office, the VC had pledged her commitment towards completing the abandoned projects in the University of Calabar and putting them to good use.

Just last week, the abandoned Faculty of Law project that was abandoned for 11 years was commissioned by President Muhammad Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Goodluck Opiah.

The administration of Prof. Obi has remodeled many structures and completed numerous abandoned projects while erecting new ones.

The workaholic VC is always in the field, inspecting ongoing projects on campus and making sure the contractors are adhering to specifications and standard.

No doubt, the Goddess of Infrastructural Development is building a serene ambiance of study for staff and students of the university.
