The Cross River State House of Assembly, on Thursday confirmed six more Commissioner nominees.
Those newly confirmed are: Mr Johnson Andiambey Ebokpo (jr), Dr Helen Agan Isamoh, Hon Erasmus Ekpang, Hon Effiom Ekaha, Hon Kingsley Namgbe Egumi as well as Capt Inah, Eno Utum.
The confirmation of the nominees followed the request of the State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu which is in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the Speaker, Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem, the list of seven nominees was transmitted to the Assembly the previous day.
Ayambem further said that, the House in its commitment to ensuring that the Government of Senator Prince Otu takes off properly, decided to screen the nominees during plenary to save time.
The House subsequently dissolved into the Committee of the whole where the nominees were screened before their subsequent confirmation.
The Lawmakers had also interacted with the nominees in a question and answer session as well as scrutinized their credentials before declaring them fit for appointment as members of the State Executive Council.
The House however postponed the confirmation of Mr Charles Asu to the following week due to his late arrival at the Chambers.
