The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Illya Umar Damagum has said his position is not a matter of life and death.
Damagum disclosed this to journalists in Abuja after the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, passed a vote of confidence on him.
He said the struggle to remain in office was not a big deal to him, adding that leadership change would not rob him of his place in the PDP.
“This is not a matter of life and death. I am still an elected member of this NEC. Even if I revert to deputy national chairman, I’m still a member of NWC. The issue of surviving or not does not emerge,”
Damagum assumed the position of the PDP National Chairmanship during the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.
