Tinubu Appoints Two New Ministers

 

President Bola Tinubu has made strategic appointments to oversee the Ministry of Youth, reinforcing his commitment to empowering young people in Nigeria. 


The newly appointed ministers are Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, who takes on the role of Minister of Youth, and Ayodele Olawande, who assumes the position of Minister of State for Youth. This announcement was made official through a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.


These appointments, however, are subject to confirmation by the Senate, reflecting the adherence to due process and democratic norms in the selection of key government officials.


 Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim: A Young Leader with a Vision 

Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, a distinguished medical doctor, and dynamic leader, has been entrusted with the vital role of Minister of Youth. 

Her credentials include serving as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) and her prior role as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Her experience in both the medical field and her dedication to youth and women’s issues positions her as a promising choice to lead the Ministry of Youth.


Ayodele Olawande: A Champion for Community Development and Youth Empowerment

Mr. Ayodele Olawande brings a wealth of expertise to his role as Minister of State for Youth. He is a respected community development expert and a prominent youth leader within the governing All Progressives’ Congress (APC).
 His tenure in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023 underscores his commitment to innovative and progressive solutions for the nation.
