The Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has reassured the people of the State that the 10th Assembly will focus on bringing the Government closer to the people.
The Speaker made this promise on Saturday, in an Inter-denominational Solemn Assembly at the Calabar International Conference Centre with the theme, ‘Heal Our Land Oh Lord!
Ayambem promised not to leave any segment of society behind in the in law-making, Governance, adding that both soft and hard infrastructure will receive adequate attention.
He also noted that the service was important to acknowledge God’s help to individuals, and Nigeria, as well as committing his second term into God’s hand.
The Speaker urged the people to pray for leaders in Nigeria and for peace to reign in the land with an assurance to believe that greater things are ahead.
The service was attended by some of the A-list politicians of the state such as the Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, His Deputy Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Members of the State House of Assembly, the State Chief Judge, State Chairman of APC and Exco members, National Assembly Members, former Deputy Governor Prof. Evara Esu, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, SSG to mention a few.
