Don Alex Ajor Foundation (DAAF), earlier today distributed free sanitary pads to students in selected schools in Ogoja, Bekwarra and Yala Local Government Areas of Cross River State.
Students from Bekwarra Secondary School Abouchiche (Bekwarra LGA), St. Joseph Secondary School Itekpa (Bekwarra LGA), Agiga Secondary Commercial School (Ogoja LGA), Government Girls Secondary School (Ogoja LGA) and Mathias Offoboche Secondary School (Yala LGA) all benefited from the exercise which was done in collaboration with medical personnels from Cross River School of Nursing, Ogoja who sensitized the students on the need for the use of sanitary pads during their menstrual cycle and its proper use.
According to the MD of the foundation, Sani Mohammed Isa, about 300 pads were distributed to the students of the selected schools from 11 years and above.
He also noted that, the exercise is one of the major dreams and purposes for which the foundation was created, urging government functionaries and spirited individuals who share the same ideology to step up and aid the girl child in the society.
