Nigeria’s minister of state for petroleum resources, Timipire Sylva resigns

 Nigerian minister of state for petroleum resources,Timipre Marlin Sylva has resigned his position as minister of petroleum in a bid to pursue his ambition of becoming the next governor of Bayelsa State.

Timipre Sylva was among 15 APC Bayelsa State Governorship aspirants who was screened and cleared for the party’s primary election schedule to take place on April 14 2023.

According to reports, Sylva handed his resignation letter last week to President Muhammadu Buhari during the Federal Executive Council Meeting in Abuja.

His resignation is inline with order given by President Muhammadu Buhari to any government appointee wishing to contest any election to resign from his position in focus on his election.
