The All progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Mr Alphonsus Eba in an effort to coverup up for his crass failure in the 2023 election has since after the election engaged in shadow- chasing and name dropping which is quite unfortunate.
These postulations came from a stakeholder of the APC , Dr Ambrose Achoda who in a statement to newsmen in Calabar said the interview granted by Eba where he was threatening party members in the name of anti party is childish and a demonstration of rascality.
He stated that Eba in the interview did not give answers to the reason he worked for the Labour Party candidate in the House of Assembly in Yala 1 State Constituency, which is the constituency he votes in the election without clearance from the National headquartres of the APC or even the state exco.
“He has not told the world why he led the party from which he has amassed so much resources to catastrophic failure in the election where only one House of Assembly member was elected in the entire northern district and losing Senate, two House of House of Reps, five House of Assembly seats- which anti party could be more than such catastrophic performance”
He said in the statement that after elections what a sane party leadership does is to put up reconciliation committees to bring every one together to move the party forward but in the case of Cross River APC it is anti party committee to witchunt members inorder to deny them benefits after working for the party.
“He claims he is an international figure but we know his origin very well. He was born in Imaje near Okuku and we grew up together. His father was a charcoal seller who drove bicycle to Benue to buy charcoal to sell in Okuku and he is busy bragging of his aristocratic background”.
He said Eba claims to have fought Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and asked if the fight was physical, spiritual or monetarily because “Eba has non of such capabilities to confront Wike”.
“Eba is dropping the names of the present governor and the governor- elect who are complete gentlemen who are ready to carry everyone in the state along not divide and create animosity based on ficticious and voodoo grounds which he, Eba is the master”.
He emphasised that the APC will move forward, the antics of Eba not withstanding and peace will reign in all parts of the state.
Dr Ambrose Achoda stressed that Eba doesn’t deserve a vote of confidence because he lost all elections in his senatorial district and that passing a vote of confidence on him only reinforces failure and called on the State Exco to withdraw the vote of confidence
“He clearly does not deserve any vote of confidence because his actions are diabolical, his plans inimical to growth and development which would not be allowed to continue by loyal party members”
