Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, Attah Ochinke had approached the tribunal challenging the outcome of the Boki/Ikom House of Representatives election. Without hearing, the Tribunal struck out the case on technical ground of premature filing of pre-trial Notice, Ochinke proceeded to the Appeal Court.
Today, August 18th, 2023, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja reversed the decision of the Election tribunal and ordered that the petition be heard on the merit.
