Continental award winning UNICAL LAW Students pay Hon. Godwin Offiono Courtesy visit.

Three exceptional Students of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL) namely, Felix-Uche Richard Chikeziri, Akpoiroro Victory Oghenekparobor and Musa Omma-Agbon Zaiki, who achieved remarkable feats by participating in the 2023 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (MLMC), emerging as the African Regional Champions and going on to compete in the World finals of the Competition, emerging as Semi finalists, led by their team coach/staff adviser, Barr. Uruegi Anne Agi, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency at his Office in the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

 The World finals which held at the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan on the 5th day of October, 2023, saw the African Regional Champions emerging as Semi-finalists out of 77 competing teams from Universities and regions Worldwide.

Members of the team and their Team coach/Staff adviser, took turns to intimate the lawmaker on the details of their outing and the significance of continuity of participation in such platforms for undergraduate students. They also used the opportunity to congratulate Hon. Offiono on his Electoral Victory and wish him success at the Appeal Court. 

The lawmaker in his remark, congratulated the Students and their coach for their feat at the World stage and representing his Alma Matter well. He urged the students to keep their heads up high as it was no mean achievement to be a Semi-finalists in such a global Competition after emerging as African Regional Champions.

Highlight of the visit was the display of the awards won by the team during the cause of the Competition which includes the esteemed title of SEMI-FINALIST in the 2023 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, the Best Memorials for the Africa Rounds, amongst others.
