The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe,DSSRS, and the member representing Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke, yesterday, distributed the cash sum of N30 million and 900 bags of rice to constituents, for Christmas celebration.
The lawmakers made the pronouncement when they both visited the three local government areas (Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku) to begin the Christmas celebration with their constituents with all thirty wards in the Federal Constituency given the sum of N1m and 30 bags of rice each.
Senator Jarigbe noted that, the example of Jesus Christ and his birth as the Prince of Peace, conveys to us, the optimism of hope that we can be better than our current circumstances.
He appreciated the people for electing Hon. Akpanke who is a pillar of support and further called on all communities in the Federal Constituency to do their utmost, to uphold peace and harmony and to work with security agencies to maintain law and order.
Hon. Akpanke in his remark, re-emphasized the reason for the season, adding that Christmas is a season of love, unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of ethnic background, political affiliations, race and gender. He appreciated the people for the support which they have enjoyed so far and called for prayers from the people, in order to enable them achieve greater fits in the year 2024.
The State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Venatius Ikem while receiving the lawmakers to his LGA, extolled the duo for their remarkable achievements in just 6 months. He called for more support and collaboration from constituents to enable them do more for the people.
