…Presents cow, drinks, yam, cash
The Honourable Commissioner for Housing Cross River State, Dr. Beatrice Igwe on Thursday condoled with a notable leader, stakeholder and founder of Opal Group, High Chief Higgins Peters over the death of his beloved younger sister, the late Mrs Juliana Akpowu Ezekiel (nee Peters).
Mrs Juliana died on 3rd January, 2024 after protracted battle with brain cancer.
The Honourable Commissioner led her supporters, team members and APC O’oh Ward exco for a condolence visit to High Chief Higgins Peters at his Oba-Okpoma Yala residence.
She presented 50 cartons of beer, 50 packs of battle water, one live cow, 20 tubers of yame, 2 gallons of palm wine, I basket of assorted drinks and cash donation. Her team members supported with additional cash donation.
Similarly APC O’oh Ward exco led by the chairman, Mr Godwin Ogbudu presented a live goat and 10 tubers of yam. Also Dr Igwe’s mother who was part of the team presented native kolanuts, garden eggs and groundnut sauce.
While speaking during the condolence visit, Dr. Igwe regretted the death of the late Mrs. Juliana Akpowu Ezekiel and urged High Chief Higgins Peters and other members of the family to be strong over the irreparable loss and pray God grant the family and all who are affected by her demise fortitude to bear the painful lose.
In his response, High Chief Higgins Peters who was overwhelmed expressed his profound appreciations and acknowledged the Honourable Commissioner has shown leadership as the first to make such huge presentation. He noted that the death of his younger sister was very painful as she was very dear to his heart and was committed to her recovery, but that the family had to accept the inevitable.
Juliana was 57 years, a wife, mother of Eight, strong willed, a successful businesswoman, kind and generous, a Christian women leader with deep Christian life.
