HIGH CHIEF HIGGINS PETERS DOLES OUT N15 MILLION, 200 BAGS OF RICE, COWS TO MARK CHRISTMAS WITH CLAN HEADS, POLITICAL STAKEHOLDERS, WOMEN GROUP

…calls for joyful and peaceful celebration

In line with his yearly commitment to giving back and in the spirit of the Christmas celebration, the Chairman, Opal Group, High Chief Higgins Peters has doled out over N15 million as cash donations and distributed over 200 bags of rice and gave out cows to mark the festivities with clans heads across Yala, political stakeholders, women and youth groups in Cross River State.

High Chief Higgins, who scaled up his outreach this year, gave out various sums of money ranging from N500,000 to the lowest being N20,000 to over 200 people and a bag of rice each including the 36 clan heads of Yala Local Government.

He assured the royal fathers of the local government that aside the statutory monthly payment from the state government, he will be paying additional N10,000 personally to each of the 36 clan heads for one year from January to December, 2024.

According to him, our traditional rulers who are custodians of our culture and traditions and and the leaders helping in maintening peace, unity and security of our respective communities, are often neglected and relegated to the background.

Adding that, this year’s Christmas outreach to our traditional fathers is borne out of my high regards for them and to challenge our illustrious sons and daughters as well as political actors on the need to always remember and support our chiefs and clan heads.

The business mogul and critical stakeholder in project Cross River urged Cross Riverians to celebrate in joy, and spread love to both family members and strangers.

He also reached out in his usual manner to the reputable Anya Al’Oh (Women of O’oh Ward) with cash donation of N250,000, distribution of rice and drinks to entertain them as his token support to them in the spirit of the yuletide season.

He wished all a happy yuletide celebration, glorious Merry Christmas and bountiful New Year in advance.
