Senate Committee on Gas Interfaces With The Management Of Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Limited (NLNG)

The Senate Committee on Gas, ably led by Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, DSSRS, yesterday, interfaced with the leadership of the Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, at the National Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, Senator Jarigbe reiterated the 10th Senate’s commitment to leveraging on the domestic utilization, processing and international export of Nigeria’s massive gas resources as a transition fuel.

He stated that, the Committee has summoned the leadership of NLNG to look out for the impediments, especially in the gas sector, to enable her swiftly remove them through legislation, in a bid to create more opportunities for local companies and international partners.

Some of the lawmakers explained that the Nigerian upstream oil and gas sector has the potential to attract more investments that will help maximize revenue for the nation if entry barriers are vacated to pave the way for the ease of doing business.

The CEO appreciated the committee for giving them the opportunity to interface with them. He further restated his commitment to synergies with the National Assembly in order to meet the yearnings and demands of Nigerians in the gas value chain.
