The 2023 Edition of the Calabar Carnival tagged “Season of Sweetness” as repackaged by the current administration of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, led by a seasoned professional in the industry, the Yala born Mr Gabe Onah and his team of experts, Effiong Ekpenyong JP (Special Adviser Events Management), Evang. Austin Cobham (Executive Secretary Carnival Commission) amongst other members of the State’s Commission.

This year’s edition which has witnessed its 1st and 2nd Dry runs, was spiced up with the introduction of a concert which gives opportunity for talents within the state to showcase their craft to a cheering mammoth crowd, also the introduction of a raffle draw which would see a lucky winner go home at the end of the Carnival activities for the year with a brand new car, will definitely increase participation at the Local front.

What is a carnival without International Participation?

The recent Lagos trip which had the governor and top government officials interface with investors, will in no mean way be a morale booster as we hope to see the Largest street Party in Africa back to its glory days.

Carnival Calabar which was introduced by Forner Governor Donald Duke during his time in office was intended to imorove the economic fortunes of the state and place the state in the world Tourism Map.

Previous editions have had participants from allover the world troop into Nigeria’s Tourism hub, “Calabar” and the 2023 edition already has the outlook of a successful event.
