Civil Society Council Pledges Support for 2023 National Population & Housing Census

The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN) has pledged its support for the 2023 Population and Housing Census. The pledge was made by the Executive Director of the NCSCN, Amb. Blessing Akinlosotu, during a meeting with the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, in Abuja.

The meeting was held at the NPC headquarters and was attended by the Federal Commissioners, Director-General and the Management Staff of the Commission. The discussion focused on how the NCSCN can partner with the Commission to ensure the successful conduct of the upcoming census.

He said that the Commission is committed to working with civil society organizations to mobilize the populace to cooperate and present themselves to be counted in the census.

The census is a constitutional requirement and is conducted every 10 years. The last census was conducted in 2006
