In a bid to improve health and universal access to healthcare of undeserved or rural population, the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, is set to embark on a 6-day free Mega Medical Outreach, aimed at enhancing the wellbeing and improving the living standard of his constituents.
The Medical Outreach is Scheduled to be held at RCM, Moniaya-Ogoja, from Monday 25th of March – Wednesday 27th of March, 2024, for Constituents of Ogoja, Yala and Bekwarra Local Government Areas.
The Second phase will commence on Thursday 28th of March – Saturday 30th of March, 2024 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Obudu, for Constituents of Obudu and Obanliku Local Government Areas.
The lawmaker noted that, the outreach program will focus not only on treatment but also on preventive measures and early interventions. Regular check-ups, health screenings and education on healthy practices that can help to prevent diseases as well as to detect potential health issues early on.
“Health as we all know is wealth, and only healthy people make a healthy nation; this, underscores the importance of healthy living in any society, hence the need to ensure optimal healthcare that cuts across age-divide in our Senatorial District” Jarigbe added.
The program will feature free surgeries on Hernia, Appendicitis and Lipoma, as Buses have been made available to convey patients to the two locations (Ogoja & Obudu) respectively.
