As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima mark their first anniversary in office, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has commended their efforts in renewing the hope of Nigerians for a better future.
In a statement released on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Kalu praised the Tinubu-led administration for laying a new foundation for the country’s development, particularly in infrastructure and good governance. He highlighted the President’s commitment to security, including the introduction of state policing, and his support for the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P), which aims to address sociological issues in the South East region through non-kinetic means.
Kalu acknowledged that while the country still faces challenges, President Tinubu has steered it in the right direction, pulling it back from economic precipice. He appealed to Nigerians to be patient and hopeful, assuring that the President is determined to change the country’s narrative.
“His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has provided leadership and shown the way out of our current economic woes. I appeal to Nigerians to be patient with the administration and support the President in his efforts to build a better Nigeria,” Kalu said.
The Deputy Speaker’s commendation comes as Nigerians mark one year since the inauguration of the Tinubu-Shettima administration, which has been working to address the country’s economic, security, and sociological challenges.
