The Nigerian government has announced a one billion naira partnership between the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy (FMoCDE) and IHS Towers to build the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Learning Community.
The collaboration will support the establishment of learning communities throughout Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as chances for 3MTT participants to meet regularly to study, cooperate, and construct projects.
The formation of these learning communities would also aid in the growth of local innovation ecosystems across Nigeria.
Under this partnership, IHS Tower Nigeria will provide financial support and industry expertise to the initiative and has committed to paying the salaries of the 37 dedicated learning community managers, as well as providing access to a learning platform that will support the 3MTT talent development efforts.
It would be recalled that the representatives of the company met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York recently and gave assurances of further support and investments in the country.
Previous supports also include the IHS Towers’ Mission T project, which has provided digital learning opportunities to over 550,000 students, equipping them with essential digital skills for the future.
Furthermore, its collaboration with UNICEF on the School Connectivity project has impacted the lives of 70,000 Nigerian students across 187 schools in 15 states.
