New Nasarawa Assembly Speaker Pledges An All-Inclusive Administration

 

The new Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Angbo has pledged to run an all-inclusive administration in the state.

Jatau made this known while being welcomed back in his home in Garaku by residents of Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, who trooped out en mass to receive the New Speaker and his entourage.

Jatau who was elected unopposed on December 1st, 2023 by members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly as the Speaker visited home to see his people.

Jatau, before he was elected Speaker, was the Deputy Majority Leader of the House.

While addressing the crowd that came out in their numbers to welcome him, Speaker Jatau appreciated God, the members of the House, the state Governor Abdullahi Sule, and the immediate past Speaker for having faith in him to head the State Assembly.

The Speaker also appreciated the people of Kokona LGA, assuring them that he would not disappoint or undermine the mandate given to him.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for this position and to thank the people of Kokona West for electing me into the state legislature. I also appreciate my colleagues for the confidence reposed on me.

“I want to thank His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, and especially the person I succeeded for their support towards my emergence as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

“By God’s grace, I will not fail you, I will not fail the House and the State while discharging my duties” he stated.

Speaker Jatau pledged an all-inclusive leadership to promote unity and peace among members.

“During my inauguration as Speaker, I pledged to promote unity and peace among the Honourable members and the state at large and that I shall strive to succeed”.

The Speaker assured of his leadership readiness to effectively synergize with the other arms of government for the overall development of the State.

“We will give His Excellency the maximum support and cooperation to succeed, that is the only way the government will provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people,” he added.

The Speaker advised the people of the State to shun religious and ethnic politics for development to thrive.

He announced to the people that the state government would embark on some road construction in Kokona and other local government areas of the state in no distance time.

The Speaker assured of his commitment to provide quality leadership for the people of the State.

Open door policy

Also speaking, the Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area, Hon. Awalu Adamu, while addressing the people urged the new Speaker to operate an open-door policy for the overall development of the state.

Adamu also assured the Speaker of their loyalty and support to succeed.

“Rt Hon Speaker, we want to thank God for your election as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

“As a political leader of Kokona Local Government Area, we want to assure you of our loyalty, prayers, and support to you, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed” he said.

The Chairman said that the local government would organize a reception in his honour in no distant time.

The Speaker also paid homage to the Abaga Toni, HRH Mr Lawrence Slyvester Ayih in his palace in Garaku to receive his royal blessing.

The Abaga Toni urged him to lead with the fear of God and provide the needed all-inclusive leadership for unity, peace, progress and development of the state.

The Abaga Toni also called on the people to support the Speaker, Gov Sule, and other leaders to succeed.
