The foremost Abuja-FCT based politician and owners of Yegraowo Farms LTD Hon. Dr. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu celebrated Christmas with his immediate community Igbekurikor and other men and women from across Yala Local Government area of Cross River State yesterday as a part of his yearly routine empowerment scheme.
Two hundred men and women benefitted twenty thousand naira (N20,000) each to celebrate the Christmas with their families as part of his efforts to mitigate the general hardship that has rocked the Nigerian economy. He gave Igbekurikor council of elders and some invited guest a huge monetary package to ease the yuletide.
Additionally, he shared bags of rice and gifted one live cow to Igbekurikor community which is to be shared amongst families to prepare their Xmas meals. Meanwhile, One of the cows was slaughtered and barbecued for the guest to eat and commemorate yesterday’s event which took place at their community primary school.
As part of his educational empowerment scheme for children and young people in preparation for the future, he distributed four thousand (4,000)exercise books, five hundred (500) pairs of school sandals and two hundred (200) school bags to pupils from Igbekurikor community primary school and other children from Yala schools to enable them return to school to study comfortably after the Christmas holiday.
The philanthropist and farmer Hon. Bravo bearing in mind the importance of food security, he also distributed 200litres of agro based chemicals to farmers across Ugaga ward to boost production as they prepare for the next cycle of farming.
Speaking during the occasion, the Clan head of Igbekurikor His Royal Highness Ogamode Iyaji Ipuole expressed his unquantified gratitude to his worthy son Hon. Bravo Oluohu for the love and sacrifice. He extolled his great sense of humanity, and thank him for always putting his community first. He said he’s the pride of the land. He prayed and showered Royal blessings on Dr. Bravo and his family.
The Honourable commissioner for Housing Cross River State Mrs. Beatrice Ocheke Igwe who is the special guest of honour at the event didn’t hold back her appreciation, she said the empowerment is one of a kind. She saluted Hon. Bravo for his courage and humane heart towards his people. She said there’s no better ways to give back to where we come from than what she witnessed yesterday.
Hon. Bravo who engaged with various groups personally promised a sustained empowerment and encourage everyone to live together in peace regardless of political party affiliation and other form of sentiments. He said for today’s empowerment, everyone must take home something nomatter how big or small.
Igbekurikor men and women, youths and children, and people from across Yala LGA present yesterday applauded him for such unmatched show of philanthropy. They said with this gesture, their Christmas celebrations and beyond will be convenient and cheerful.
