The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has condoled the Deputy Clerk of the House, Barr. (Mrs.) Kate Ubi, over the passing on of her beloved mother, late Dr. (Mrs.) Hannah Oyama MFR, who peacefully passed away at the age of 77.
The Honorable Speaker visited Barr. Mrs. Kate Ubi, Monday, extended his sympathy and support and the family of the deceased at such difficult times, saying: “The loss of a loved one is a trying experience.”
Reflecting on her interactions with the Speaker, Barr. Mrs. Kate Ubi expressed gratitude for the solidarity from the Assembly ably led by Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem. She fondly recalled the Speaker’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity and cooperation among the members of the House, acknowledging that his leadership style has contributed to a harmonious and productive legislative environment.
“Since your emergence as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, I have felt a strong sense of togetherness and camaraderie,” said Barr. Mrs. Kate Ubi. “During this difficult time, his visit to my residence to offer his condolences has brought comfort to my family and me. I pray that God continues to guide and support him in all his endeavors.”
The demise of Elder (Dr) Mrs. Hannah Oyama MFR has left a vacuum in her immediate family and those who knew her. She will be sorely missed by all those who came across to her during her earthly sojourn. Her contributions to society and her legacy of kindness and grace shall continue to live on.
